Someone from Lilly and Kemph Outfitting is around to answer the phone or respond to your emails almost seven days a week and 52 weeks a year. Please call or email us at any time with your questions or concerns.
There are a few standard questions that we get all the time. We thought we would anticipate those questions here.
When is the best time of year to fish SW Montana?
Our fishing season on most streams is year round. However, practically speaking you can plan a trip to fish SW Montana from April 1st till the end of October. Since we have so many major rivers, meadow streams, spring creeks and Stillwater fisheries, you can always find very good fishing as long as you are willing to fish with the most productive methods for the conditions you are encountering. If you have special preferences for a style of fishing then you should check with us to see when that style of fishing will most likely be available.
What is the Weather going to be like?
Most of SW Montana is over 4500 feet in elevation. That means that any time of the year you can encounter cooler, moister weather. If you have good high tech waders, socks, long underwear, fleece tops and a good storm jacket you can fish in any conditions. The beauty of SW Montana is that we rarely get weather from the 1st of April to the end of October that is so cold and wet that you cannot enjoy a day of fishing.
Do you have Loaner Equipment if I don’t own my own gear?
Yes, Lilly and Kemph Outfitting has the finest Simms wading gear for men and women. We also have good quality Winston and Sage rods and reels for our guests to borrow if necessary. You are expected to buy your own flies and terminal tackle and the guides stop each day at a local fly shop and assist you in making those purchases.
What is your deposit policy?
Deposit Policy: 50% of the total guided fee is required within ten days of making your reservations. The balance is due at the completion of your fishing trip. If you must cancel your trip, a full refund will be issued if notice of the cancellation is provided at least 21 days prior to your fishing dates.
How soon do I need to make reservations?
We suggest that for those who can plan their fishing vacations several months in advance you make reservations as early as possible. During the prime summer months of June, July, August and September it is more difficult to get a guide on short notice. However we do recommend that you call us if you need a guide on short notice at any time of the year. We will do all we can to help you.
